THE STARTING POINT

Map enrollment, learning activities and support as one connected experience.

01

Follow one learner through the course.

Describe how a learner discovers the course, joins it and begins the first activity. Continue through practice, feedback and completion. Capture the information needed at each step. This makes it easier to spot missing instructions and support decisions before they become navigation problems.

02

Include educator responsibilities.

Map how educators prepare material, review work and respond to learners. Confirm who manages access and course changes. A learner journey depends on these activities even when they are not visible on the learner’s screen, so include them in the platform requirements.

03

Review the handoffs.

Check transitions between activities, people and tools. A learner should understand what has been completed and what happens next. Use a walkthrough with representative users to review the sequence and terminology before expanding the interface design into every screen.
