THE STARTING POINT
Align assessment tasks, evidence and feedback with the learning objective.
Match the task to the objective.
Define what the learner should demonstrate and choose an activity that produces relevant evidence. A recall question and a practical task answer different questions about understanding. Decide which evidence is needed rather than choosing a format only because it is easy to deliver through the platform.
Explain the review method.
Share the criteria and the expected submission format in advance. Clarify whether collaboration or external resources are allowed for this activity. Give reviewers examples of how the criteria apply so that feedback can remain consistent across different submissions.
Connect results to further practice.
Describe what happens after the assessment, including feedback, another attempt or additional support where appropriate. Review whether learners understand the result and the next step. Keep the assessment part of the learning journey rather than an isolated score with no practical follow-up.
TAKE THE NEXT STEP
